SARAJEVO, Sept 12 (Hina) - Electoral rules for Mostar can change only when previously agreed measures regarding the organisation of the city are met, advisor of the Bosnian Presidency Chairman, Mirza Hajric, said in Sarajevo on
Friday. Hajric said on behalf of Izetbegovic's Office that a change in electoral rules and regulations for Mostar could only be accepted under certain conditions.
SARAJEVO, Sept 12 (Hina) - Electoral rules for Mostar can change only when
previously agreed measures regarding the organisation of the city are met, +
advisor of
the Bosnian Presidency Chairman, Mirza Hajric, said in Sarajevo on Friday.
Hajric said on behalf of Izetbegovic's Office that a change in electoral rules+
and
regulations for Mostar could only be accepted under certain conditions. #L#
"Elections for six Mostar municipalities have to he held on 14th instead of 13
and 14 September, and the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Assembly has to meet on 13
September and accept the adopted amendment on Mostar," Hajric said.
We also request that the Presidency of the Bosnian HDZ say that three Mostar
municipalities with a Croat majority cannot be united, he said adding that they+
could
only co-ordinate their work in according to the article 54 of the statute of +
the town in
Mostar.
Izetbegovic's office also requested that the procedure of the UNHCR for the
return of displaced persons to Mostar be adopted without delay and +
obstructions,
Hajric said, adding that "Under such conditions we accept the change of the +
electoral
rules and regulations pertaining to the Mostar district. If those conditions +
are not
accepted, we will not accept the changes in the electoral rules.
The same request has been sent to the OSCE Mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
