Croatia was interested in becoming a full member of the Central
European Free Trade Association, Jurica said, stressing that Croatia was
holding intensive talks with all CEFTA member countries about the singing
of a free trade agreement, which was one of the three prerequisites for
becoming a full member.
The government on Thursday adopted a report from negotiations
held about such an agreement with Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary.
Asked about statements in the press about personnel changes in the
Government, Jurica said that Matesa would inform reporters if there were
any changes.
He described such statements as speculations.
A guest at the press conference was spokesman for the Foreign
Ministry, Zeljko Trkanjec, who said that a meeting between Croatian Foreign
Minister Mate Granic and his Yugoslav counterpart would take place in the
first half of September.
