MOSTAR, Aug 25 (Hina) - Croatian Television Mostar on Sunday
evening for the second time broadcast an apology in relation to
statements made on the TV on 19 and 24 June. The election
commission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in
Europe assessed the said statements as a violation of Article 113
of the Rules and Regulations of the Temporary Election
Commission, which prohibits incendiary language, and on account
of them punished the Croatian Democratic Union Party of Mostar by
taking several candidates off the party's list for the Bosnian
September municipal election.
As an anchorman explained, the text of the apology was
written and ordered by the chairman of the Media Experts
Commission to be broadcast on Croatian Television Mostar for
three consecutive evenings.
"Broadcasts of speeches of some officials and commentaries
represent damage to all political parties and voters in Bosnia-
Herzegovina", the apology said.
"Croatian Television Mostar fully supports open and free
media with the aim of promoting democratic elections throughout
BH", it added.
"Croatian Television Mostar advocates a democratic BH in
which all people may live together in peace and dignity", the
apology concluded.
