PLAVSIC'S SUPPORTERS TAKE OVER KEY RADIO, TV BROADCAST UNIT IN BOSNIAN

BOSNIAN $ SERB ENTITY SARAJEVO/PALE, Aug 25 (Hina) - Police backing Republika Srpska President Biljana Plavsic on Sunday evening took over control over a radio and television transmitter on the mountain of Kozara, the key broadcasting unit in the Bosnian Serb entity. According to the Sunday evening news broadcast from Pale, the control take-over took place at 21.30 hours on the order of the newly appointed Interior Minister of Republika Srpska, Marko Pavic. Plavsic appointed Pavic to his new office two days ago after replacing Dragan Kijac, close to Bosnian Serb war criminal Radovan Karadzic and Bosnian Serb representative in the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina Momcilo Krajisnik. By taking over control over the transmitter on Kozara which, despite being occupied by Bosnian Serbs in April 1992 with the then Yugoslav People's Army (JNA), is legally still the property of the Bosnian Radio-Television, Plavsic's supporters made transmission of radio and TV signals from Pale to north- western BH impossible. The Bosnian Serb entity's Premier, Gojko Klickovic, told Pale media today that Plavsic's actions represented "open treason". (hina) ha 251145 MET aug 97
