Speaking about the agreements between Croatia and Yugoslavia,
Deputy Foreign Minister Ivo Sanader said that their ratification was very
important, from a political point of view, and added that with the agreement
on establishing border crossings, Croatia would reassume its position
among important European transit countries.
After a discussion on the World Jewish Restitution Organisation
initiative regarding the distribution of the so-called Nazi gold from the
Tripartite Gold Commission for the Restitution of Monetary Gold (TBC), the
Government reached a decision by which Croatia waives its part in the
distribution of the remainder of the fund, for the victims of the Nazi
persecution.
The Government also reached a decision that Croatia, as full
member, should take part in the conference on the so-called Nazi gold
which is taking place in London this December.
