ZAGREB, Aug 22 (Hina) - All 14 Croat councillors of the Vukovar
City Council have filed a lawsuit against a Serb councillor who
had insulted them at the constituent session on May 28, the
Vukovar Municipal Court, temporarily based in Zagreb, said on
Friday.
At the first part of the constituent session of the Vukovar
City Council, which 12 Serb councillors refused to attend, Ratko
Radanov, a Serb member of the Vukovar County Assembly, came to
the session uninvited, shouting abuse at the Croat councillors
and calling them "killers of Serb children" and "Ustashas".
The lawsuit was filed under the Croatian Criminal Code,
which envisages a prison sentence from six months to five years
for inciting national, racial and religious hatred and
intolerance.
On July 23, the Vukovar Municipal Attorney based in Zagreb
requested an investigation, which is being conducted by the
County Court of Osijek.
