RIGHTS CONVENTION

DUBROVNIK, Sept 1 (Hina) - A Croatian government working group for
investigating the compatibility of Croatian law with regulations of the
European Convention and Protocol, began a four-day session in Dubrovnik
on Monday.
Participating in the session which is presided over by Deputy Vice-
President Ljerka Mintas-Hodak, are representatives of the Croatian
government, Parliament, Constitutional Court, Faculty of Law in Zagreb, as
well as a delegation of the Council of Europe headed by the head of the
Human Rights Directorate, Mark Neville.
The aim of the session is the drafting of the final version of the
working group's report, as well as ratification preparations of the European
Convention for the protection of human rights and basic freedoms and
protocols, to which Croatia is committed one year since its access into the
Council of Europe.
