VINKOVCI, Aug 19 (Hina) - The Croatian government permitted that
92 workers from the part of the Vukovar-Srijem County (Danube
region of eastern Croatia) under UN's transitional administration
be employed in the County's offices, the office of Prefect Rudolf
Koenig said in a statement on Tuesday.
The persons in question were, the statement said, 59
government employees and 33 salaried persons. Former, illegal,
administration offices employed 253 persons in the County's UN-
administered part. Part of them would go to towns and
municipalities, in proportion to the 1991 census, the statement
added.
When all are eventually employed, "70 to 80 persons will be
redundant labour in the care of the Employment Office or will be
laid off", the statement concluded.
