TUDJMAN RECEIVES DELEGATION FROM BH FEDERATION, CENTRAL BH CANTON

CANTON $ ZAGREB, Aug 26 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on Tuesday received a Croat delegation from the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Central Bosnia Canton, the President's Office said in a statement. During talks, the significance of central Bosnia for the Croat people in the Federation was pointed out, the statement said, adding that President Tudjman was informed about the course of reconstruction and return of Croats to the region of central Bosnia, where 60,000 out of 127,000 Croats stayed. Croats wished to survive and return to central Bosnia, which required a stepped-up reconstruction of houses and rebirth of economy, in which economic subjects from Croatia would assist, the statement said. In relation to the willingness of seven Croats from central Bosnia, suspected of war crimes, to voluntarily go before a court if they are guaranteed a speedy and unbiased trial, during the talks the idea of British Minister Cook that trials take place in BH was supported. Alongside President Tudjman, present at today's talks were Croatian Development and Reconstruction Minister Jure Radic, and the President's advisors Ivic Pasalic, Pero Jurkovic and Slobodan Lang. The Croat delegation from BH included the President of the BH Federation, Vladimir Soljic, the president of the Croatian Democratic Union party of BH, Bozo Rajic, the prefect of the Central Bosnia Canton, Ivan Saric, the president of the Canton's HDZ committee, Zoran Maric, the president of the Canton's Assembly, Jozo Boro, and the Canton's vice premier, Mirko Batinic, the statement from the Croatian President's Office concluded.
