OSIJEK, Aug 18 (Hina) - The administration board of the
Association of Displaced Persons of the Osijek-Baranja County on
Monday evening held a session and decided to request of UNTAES,
UNHCR and the Croatian government's office for refugees and
displaced persons to step up and simplify the procedure for the
issuance of certificates on the return plan.
It was pointed out during the discussion that certificates
were slow in arriving despite requests for a swift return being
submitted on time. The displaced believe that UNTAES' lack
organization due to annual leaves is one of the principal causes
of that.
The co-president of the county's association of displaced
persons, Josip Kompanovic, recalled that the displaced, upon
receiving the certificate on the return plan, must contact
UNTAES' department for civil issues, in order to have an
undisturbed return to their place of residence and free movement
made possible.
The association's president, Tomo Povreslo, said that the
displaced had still not received an answer to their requests that
UNTAES' check-points be removed.
