WAGNER VISITS CENTRAL BOSNIA CANTON

TRAVNIK, Aug 12 (Hina) - I personally believed that the Central Bosnia Canton was crucial for the destiny of the (Croat-Moslem) Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, said a deputy to the UN high representative to Bosnia- Herzegovina, Gerd Wagner, after his meeting with the head of the canton, Ivan Saric. Wagner, under whose sponsorship the Sarajevo agreement was signed on August 5, came in Jajce on Tuesday to see how the agreement was being implemented. He was interested in moves which should ensure the return of Moslems (Bosniaks) who left Jajce following incidents in the beginning of August, to this central Bosnian municipality. Wagner and Saric have agreed that everything possible at the moment should be done and that the return of Moslems to Kruscica, Psenik and Prudi (villages in the Jajce area) next week would be an encouragement for the entire process as well as a proof for the international community that the Sarajevo agreement is being carried out very responsibly. I would be extremely glad that something positive happen this weekend, I would regard the return of, for example, 80 Moslem families to the mentioned villages as a great encouragement, Ambassador Wagner said. He added that everybody had the right to come back and that everybody had the right to be provided with acceptable possibilities of the return. He also showed interest in the position of Croats. Saric said that about 66,000 Croats from this Bosnian canton were either refugees or dislocated persons within the canton. He added that there were three times more displaced Croats (than Moslems), and explained that therefore Croats could not accept the Moslem stance on the return on the one-for-one basis but insisted on the all-for-all basis.
