MOSTAR, July 11 (Hina) - The Mostar municipal council at Friday's session transferred its authority to the newly-established the Union of Croat Communities in the town. Head of the Union, Stipe Maric, took over the authority from the
former president of the municipal council, Mijo Brajkovic. Present at the ceremony were president of the Bosnian Federation Vladimir Soljic and president of the Bosnian Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) Bozo Rajic.

Recalling the work of the municipal council, Brajkovic warned that
most of the money from the international community, intended for Mostar,
had ended up in the east (Moslem-held) part of the town He recalled that
16,000 displaced Croats were accommodated in the town and that there
were more Croats in west Mostar than there had been in the whole town
before the war.
