SARAJEVO, 26 June (Hina) - Spokesman for the leading Bosnian Party of
Democratic Action (SDA) Ismet Grbo on Thursday stated that the announced
meeting between Croatia's President Franjo Tudjman and Bosnia's Alija
Izetbegovic was again questionable due to some difficulties in the
functioning of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. #L#
Grbo told a press conference in Sarajevo that 'the failure of
yesterday's session of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Assembly is one-
sided renunciation of the agreement' which would 'most probably make the
Tudjman-Izetbegovic meeting questionable.'
The SDA spokesman rejected the Croatian stand that the new
organisation of Sarajevo and Mostar, in line with decisions of the
Federation Forum, should be performed simultaneously with the re-
organisation of Travnik as the capital of the Central Bosnia Canton,
which was the main reason for the failure of yesterday' session in
Mostar.
"The question of Travnik is not part of an integral package
Sarajevo and Mostar are part of, and Deputy High Representative Michael
Steiner made his opinion of that question clear," Grbo said, adding that
there was no reason why Sarajevo should not be re-organised but only
when the same thing was done in Mostar as well.
Despite the current complicated situation in the Herzegovina-
Neretva Canton, the joint police would be established and conditions for
the Tudjman-Izetbegovic meeting would be created, Grbo said.
