CROATIA'S ECONOMY PRESENTED IN GERMANY

DUESSELDORF, June 24 (Hina) - "Konrad Adenauer", the largest German political foundation from Sankt Augustin near Bonn, on Tuesday organized the presentation of Croatia as an economy partner in Duesseldorf. The current situation and possibilities of Croatia's economy were presented by the president of the Croatian Investing Promotion Agency, Vanja Kalogjera. The head of the foundation's Department for International Relations and Cooperation, Josef Thesing, stressed that the impression on Croatia, as on other countries, was mostly gathered from newspaper headlines, which certainly did not provide an objective picture. "Konrad Adenauer" was ready to cooperate with Croatia in order to help it develop all institutions of a democratic society as soon as possible, Thesing said. The political situation in Croatia and the re-election of Franjo Tudjman as the country's president were a sign of stability in the country, and for investors, a positive sign as to the safety of investing in Croatia's economy, said the Croatian Ambassador to Germany, Zoran Jasic, also present at today's event. He added that such presentations were of high quality for Croatia, since they were organized and conducted by German experts and could result with new investments. It is also important that our legal system is similar to the German, Jasic said, which is especially evidenced in the system of financing and banking, which is much better than in other transition countries.
