HAMBURG, June 20 (Hina) - The German edition of the book "The Historical
Destiny of Nations" by Croatian President Franjo Tudjman was presented
in the north-western Germany city of Hamburg on Thursday, the Croatian
Embassy in Bonn said in a statement on Friday.
The book, published by Sulek Verlag of Cologne, was presented by
Croatian ambassador to Germany Zoran Jasic, historian and adviser to the
Croatian President Andjelko Mijatovic and leader of the CDU Hamburg
branch Ole von Beust.
The presentation, organised by the Croatian Consulate General in
Hamburg, was also addressed by Prof. Dieter Jung, a great friend of
Croatia, and publisher Stjepan Sulek. Attending were members of the
consular corps in Hamburg and German public and cultural figures and
journalists.
Prof. Mijatovic drew attention to "the destiny of small nations in
a rift between large nations and great ideas."
Mr. Von Beust said that the destinies of Germany and Croatia were
"closely interwoven" as shown by their recent history.
Prof. Jasic stressed the importance of the promotion of Tudjman's
book "in the light of spreading the truth and knowledge about the
history of the Croatian people."
