ZAGREB, June 9 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on Monday
thanked all passengers, Croatian citizens and foreign diplomats, who had
ridden a "Peace Train" to the eastern Danube river town of Vukovar on
Sunday.
"We regret to say that Serb extremists attempted to provoke an
incident by stoning the train.
"We take this opportunity to stress that representatives of all
parliamentary opposition parties were invited to ride the 'Train for
Vukovar' and that representatives of the Social Democratic Party (SDP),
the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) and the Serb Independent Democratic
Party (SDSS) responded to our call," a statement from the President's
Office said.
