CROATIAN DEFENCE AND NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL HOLDS SESSION

ZAGREB, June 4 (Hina) - The Croatian Defence and National Security Council (VONS) held a session, under the chairmanship of Croatian President Franjo Tudjman, the President's Office said in a statement on Wednesday. The VONS considered the visit of U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, and voiced satisfaction with the fact that there were joint interests for promotion of overall friendly ties between Croatia and the United States, the statement read. The VONS also considered the course of peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danubian area and stressed that the general pardon, amnesty and remission should be granted consistently, except for war crimes perpetrators, the statement added.
