ZAGREB, June 8 (Hina) - Croatian opposition presidential candidate Vlado
Gotovac was released from Zagreb's Rebro hospital at 17.00 hours on
Sunday.
Gotovac was detained for additional check-ups after being attacked
on his presidential campaign in Pula last Thursday.
"Gotovac is feeling a little better, so he has been released
earlier than planned. His diagnosis is expected to be made known
tomorrow at 11.00", said the head of Gotovac's election headquarters,
Karlo Gorinsek.
The doctor team following Gotovac's condition recommended the
patient must rest for several days, but, according to Gorinsek, Gotovac
could not wait that long, since "the time of the campaign is unavoidably
running out."
It was requested of the Croatian Television Administration that
Gotovac's appearance, as part of each presidential candidate's
presentation, be broadcast from his apartment on 12 June, a day after
current Croatian President Franjo Tudjman's, and two days after social
democratic candidate Zdravko Tomac's presentation.
