U.S. WELCOMES INDICTMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH KOSTAJNICA INCIDENTS

WASHINGTON, June 3 (Hina) - The US administration on Tuesday welcomed indictments against ten persons involved in recent incidents in Hrvatska Kostajnica. It's a step in the right direction, US State Department spokesman Nicholas Burns said in Washington. We hope that the trials will be fair and that justice will be done, he added. Burns recalled that American support of Croatia at the international level depended on Croatia's fulfilment of the commitments it had assumed. If it fails to fulfil them, the message is very clear. Croatia's hope of becoming a country fully integrated into Europe will not be realised because we will act against it.
