POLICE OFFICIALS IN MOSTAR HOLD MEETING

MOSTAR, Mar 27 (Hina) - A joint meeting between the Interior Minister of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina (BH), Mehmed Zilic, his deputy, Jozo Leutar, the Interior Minister of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Valentin Coric, his deputy, Sefkije Dziha, and the deputy commissioner of the International Police Task Force (IPTF) in BH, David Kriskovich, was held in Mostar on Thursday, the public relations office of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton said in a statement. It was decided to establish a temporary operative cooperation between the polices of Western and Eastern Mostar, the statement said, adding that this included the exchange of daily reports, joint work in detecting and preventing criminal activities, and cooperation in all issues of police work. Teams of experts, headed by the cantonal minister and his deputy, should as of 28 March start joint work, which would also include IPTF officers. The minister and his deputy would demand of top politicians to agree on the formation of the Seventh Police Administration in Mostar, whose authority would cover Mostar's central zone, the statement further said, adding that this police administration would have the same status as others in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. It was also decided that the "sleeping policemen" on Mostar's Bulevar road, set by Eastern Mostar authorities, would be removed by 29 March this year. The participants in today's meeting issued a proclamation to all believers in Croatia and the BH Federation travelling through the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton to Sarajevo to meet the Pope that absolute security would be provided, the statement concluded.
