LJUBLJANA, Dec 26 (Hina)- Slovene president Milan Kucan on Saturday
congratulated Slovene citizens on the independence day, marking
the public referendum of 1990 when 88 per cent of the nation voted
for independence and disassociation from the former Socialist
Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
In his address to the citizenry Kucan emphasised that the popular
vote of 26 December 1990 amounted to a vote for a different future,
the rule of law, market economy, social justice and integrations
