ZAGREB, Dec 11 (Hina) - Since the very beginning of the establishment of the independent Croatia, its relations with Turkey have been developing and have been important not only for the cooperation between the two countries in various fields but also for solving the crisis in the former Yugoslavia, particularly in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatian President Franjo Tudjman said on Friday receiving credentials from the incoming Turkish Ambassador to Croatia Selahattin Alpar. The exchange of visits on the highest level greatly contributed to such development of relations, Tudjman said and added he was preparing himself for another visit to Turkey with great expectations. The Croatian President expressed wish for not only further development of bilateral relations but also for solving current crises in Bosnia. Turkey highly appreciates its friendship with Croatia, which achieved its independence and territorial integrity under President Tudjman's special guidance, Turkish Ambassador said. Turkey considers Croatia the key factor for peace and stability implementation at this strategic important area and appreciates important role that Croatia holds in implementing the Dayton Agreement, and signing of the special relations agreement between Croatia and the Bosnian Federation, as well as an agreement on the port of Ploce and Neum, are important steps towards that goal, Alpar concluded.
