SARAJEVO/BIJELJINA, Dec 12 (Hina) - Four Bosniaks (Moslems) from
Srebrenica were on Saturday found guilty for the murder of four
Bosnian Serbs, and were sentenced to highest prison terms, the
Bosnian Serb news agency ONASA reported.
The Republika Srpska County Court in Bijeljina sentenced both
Nedzad Hasic and Ahmo Harbas to 20 years in prison, Behudin Husic to
11 and Samir Avdic, who was tried in absentia, to ten years in
prison.
The four Bosniaks managed to flee from Srebrenica after the town had
been occupied by Serb troops in the summer of 1995.
After a year of hiding in the woods, they gave themselves up to
members of the NATO-led Stabilisation Force (SFOR) who, in turn,
handed them over to Bosnian Serb authorities.
Defence attorneys of the foursome said the verdict had been subject
to political circumstances in the Bosnian Serb entity.
Three detainees have said they would go on hunger strike.
