SESSION OF HDZ NATIONAL COUNCIL

ZAGREB, Dec 4 (Hina) - A session of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union's (HDZ) National Council was held on Thursday chaired by party President Franjo Tudjman. Preceding the forthcoming National Committee convened for Monday, the Council discussed final preparations for Monday's meeting, Croatian Television (HRT) reported Thursday night. Personnel changes were announced for top level positions and Drago Krpina the party's spokesman until now will replace Ivan Valent as the party secretary. Ivica Ropus is to be the party' new spokesman. Four new party secretaries were announced being Ivo Sanader, Mario Kapulica, Bruno Uroic and Marin Sopta. New deputy presidents will be filled by Vesna Skare Ozbolt and Zlatko Canjuga. Unofficial sources state that the party Presidency has been supplemented. In his official capacity as the Principal of the Presidential Office, Ivica Kostovic will join the party presidency (replacing Hrvoje Sarinic who resigned recently). Pavao Miljavac (Defence Minister) and Ivo Sanader (Deputy Foreign Minister), will join teh party presidency by virture of their offices, reported HRT. (hina) sp
