ZAGREB, Nov 30 (Hina) - The Croatian Defence and National Security
Council (VONS) convened on Monday under the chairmanship of
President Franjo Tudjman to discuss current issues of internal and
foreign affairs.
The signing of the Agreement on Special Relations between Croatia
and the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Agreement on the
free use of the Croatian port of Ploce for Bosnia-Herzegovina, and
free passage through the southern Bosnian town of Neum for Croatia,
was described as exceptionally important.
The Council reiterated that the ratification of both agreements, as
well as their implementation, must be carried out separately, in
line with the Dayton and Washington agreements, the President's
Office said in a statement.
Council members were informed about the President's state visit to
Greece which was described as very successful, and enabled
economic, parliamentary and overall cooperation to intensify.
This cooperation has additional significance, because Greece, as a
member of the European Union and NATO, fully endorses Croatia's
accession into Euro-Atlantic associations.
