ZAGREB, Nov 4 (Hina) - The Croatian President's Office on Wednesday +denied allegations by some newspapers claiming that the Defence and +National Security Council (VONS) had on November 2 adopted +decisions regarding the fate of
several Croatian banks.+ The weekly "Globus", claimed that at it session held November 2, +VONS concluded that "Glumina banka", "Ilirja banka", "Zupanjska +banka", "Komercijalna banka" had gone bankrupt and that it was +necessary to introduce recovery measures for these banks.+ The Defence and Security Council did not even sit on the said day, +nor had any meeting been announced, said a statement signed by VONS +secretaries, General Major Darko Grdic and Gordan Radin.+ The last meeting of VONS was held on Wednesday, October 21, 1998, +and a press release was issued regarding that session as is done in +all cases when VONS is convened, they said.+ G
