ZAGREB, Oct 7 (Hina) - Croatian Premier Zlatko Matesa received the
Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Parsons
Corporation, James F. McNulty and his associates on Wednesday.
The corporation is one of the most reputable companies in the United
States.
The company is to be involved with a project commencing early 1999
concerned with increasing the capacity of the Zagreb electric power
station (TE-TO Zagreb).
The capacity of the power station should be increased to 180MW of
electricity and 150MW of heating energy.
The value of the project is estimated at US$128 million and it
expected that the project will be completed by the end of the year
2000.
The joint project to be undertaken will be broken down so that
Croatian Electricity (HEP) will conduct works to the value of US$28
million while a consortium of Croatian companies headed by
Croatia's Montmontaza, will conduct works valued at US$42
million.
This project will motivate further Croatian/American economic
cooperation which will employ Croatian manufacturers in capital
economic projects, notes a Croatian Government press release.
During the meeting, discussions were held about other possible
projects for joint cooperation at mutual interest concludes the
press release.
