MARIJA BISTRICA, 3 Oct (Hina) - Traffic was brought to a standstill
on Saturday afternoon on the road leading from Marija Bistrica,
where Pope John Paul II today beatified Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac,
to Zagreb.
Buses that were driving the pilgrims were random and slow because of
a kilometre-long queue of people, and around 5pm they almost
stopped driving altogether.
After 6pm a few more buses, escorted by police, which were to take
another route joined in, and a Zagreb public transport
representative said that around a hundred buses would drive for as
long as it would be necessary.
