SVETA HELENA, Sept 30 (Hina) - The 10km long and US$50 million worth
section of a future highway between Zagreb and Croatia's border
with Hungary was opened on Wednesday.
Sixty-one km of the 97km long Zagreb-Gorican highway have been
built to date.
The highway is part of an international route from Budapest to
Croatia's northern Adriatic port of Rijeka and has been included in
section B of the pan-European transport corridor number five.
Completion is scheduled for September 2000.
Croatian Premier Zlatko Matesa said at today's opening that the
works would be completed in keeping with the deadline.
