BUKAREST, Sept 29 (Hina) - Croatian Premier Zlatko Matesa's visit
to Romania is of outstanding importance for the development of
bilateral and regional relations, Romanian Premier Radu Vasile
said in Bukarest on Tuesday.
Matesa is heading a Croatian delegation on a one-day visit to
Romania.
The delegations of the two countries discussed the strengthening of
cultural and economic cooperation, Vasile told reporters after the
talks with Matesa.
The Croatian Premier assessed the talks as meaningful.
Economic relations are far below the potential of both countries,
he said, but added that today's visit should be a positive
watershed.
"I base this claim on the fact that the Croatian delegation includes
almost 100 top businessmen, which (corroborates) the interest of
Croatian economy in relations with Romania", said Matesa.
More than 80 Croatian businessmen arrived in Romania together with
the government delegation to attend a one-day forum with
representatives of the biggest Romanian companies aimed at finding
ways of strengthening cooperation.
