SAYS SPOKESMAN

SARAJEVO, Aug 25 (Hina) - The office of the international high
representative (HR) for Bosnia on Tuesday refuted claims that an
invitation to representatives of Bosnian Croat political parties
to meet with the Croatian state leadership was in any way connected
with Croatian President Franjo Tudjman's recent talks with the HR
and his deputy.
HR Carlos Westendorp and his deputy Jacques Klein wish to point out
that during last Tuesday's talks with President Tudjman in Zagreb
they did not suggest that he hold a meeting with the leaders and
candidates of Bosnian Croat political parties, said Rid
Attarashany, a spokesman for Westendorp's office.
If it takes places, the meeting will be held completely and only at
Tudjman's initiative, said the spokesman.
The HR believes the meeting, scheduled for tomorrow, will be held in
the spirit of and on the foundations of the Dayton peace agreement,
for whose implementation the Croatian government is responsible as
one of the signatories, Attarashany said.
