NHI PROPOSES MEETING WITH TUDJMAN BE POSTPONED TO SEPT 5

( Editorial: --> 5704 ) SARAJEVO, Aug 25 (Hina) - The Presidency of the New Croat Initiative (NHI) on Monday discussed an invitation Croatian President Franjo Tudjman forwarded to Croat candidates for seats in the Bosnian Presidency and leaders of Croat parties in Bosnia to attend a meeting in Zagreb on August 26. The NHI Presidency will propose to Tudjman that the meeting take place on September 5, when the whole NHI leadership will be present in Zagreb for a pre-electoral party rally ahead of a general election in Bosnia in early September. August 26 is unacceptable to the recently established Bosnian Croat party due to precise and earlier established pre-electoral activities, and the duties NHI president Kresimir Zubak has as member in the Bosnian Presidency and the duties of international representatives in Bosnia. The NHI, a recently established Bosnian Croat party, interpreted Tudjman's invitation as further evidence towards Croatia's and its President's care for the current position and prospects of Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina (BH). At last evening's session, chaired by Zubak, the NHI Presidency determined several important topics to be discussed with Tudjman and the leadership of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ). These include the implementation of the Dayton peace agreement, and especially the return of refugees and exiled persons, the constitutionality and equality of the Croat people throughout BH, and special relations between Croatia and the Croat-Muslim Federation of BH.
