PRISTINA, Aug 24 (Hina) - Serbian forces have attacked 27 Albanian
villages in central Kosovo, Albanian sources reported Monday.
Most of the villages which have been attacked are located along the
Pristina-Prizren and Prizren-Pec roads.
Serbian forces have used heavy artillery in the attacks, the same
source said.
The latest offensive forced several thousand Albanians to leave
their homes.
On Sunday the Serbian police prevented a group of reporters and
foreign observers from visiting areas caught in the conflict on the
pretext of danger the observers and reporters would be exposed to
because of the constant fire, the same source said.
