PRISTINA, July 27 (Hina) - Pristina's Albanian language press on
Monday published detailed reports on the second day of the largest
offensive so far by the Serbian military and police on one-fifth of
Kosovo territory.
Special attention was given to the situation in settlements along
the main Pristina-Pec and Pristina-Prizren roads, which have been
closed for some time.
The Albanian and Serbian sides have given contradictory numbers on
the victims and wounded during the past two days, but it is certain
the figure is high.
Pristina Albanian daily "Koha Ditore" writes that Serbian forces
have bombarded the village of Negrovci near Glogovac and villages
around Malisevo, which is controlled by the Kosovo Liberation Army
(KLA).
It adds that Albanian villages have been set fire to along the
Pristina-Pec road.
The daily "Bujku" reports that because of powerful attacks by
Serbian forces in the past two days, 300 Albanian homes have been
left burning as well as 250 hectares of unharvested wheat fields.
