ZAGREB, 12 Aug (Hina) - Nada Sakic could be extradited to Croatia in
three weeks, Sakic's court-appointed attorney Branko Seric said in
Monday night Croatian Television late news broadcast "Motrista".
According to Seric, the possibility of Sakic's extradition to the
Federal Republic of Yugoslavia has been ruled out.
Nada Sakic, the wife of World War II commander of the Jasenovac
concentration camp Dinko Sakic, has been charged by the Zagreb
County Court with war crimes against civil population.
She is charged along with other Ustasha officers with maltreating
and causing the deaths of a number of inmates of the Stara Gradiska
camp where she worked from the end of 1942 to 1945 as a member of
Ustasha units.
Sakic was arrested on 24 July in the Argentinean resort of Santa
Teresita near Buenos Aires.
In line with a court ruling, Sakic is under house arrest since she
suffers from Parkinson's and other diseases.
Apart from Croatia, Yugoslavia has also submitted an extradition
request.
