PRISTINA, July 19 (Hina) - At least 20 armed Albanians were killed
during a several-hour clash with Yugoslav border guards near the
Yugoslav-Albanian border, the pro-Serbian government Media Centre
in Pristina announced on Sunday.
During the night between Saturday and Sunday the guards prevented
three groups of several hundred armed Albanians in Kosovo
Liberation Army uniforms entering Yugoslav territory from Albania,
the same source said.
Yugoslav border guards are still searching the area.
In the same place on Saturday morning about 1,000 armed Albanians
tried to enter Kosovo from Albania but were stopped by Yugoslav
border guards. At least 30 Albanians were killed in these clashes.
So far Albanian sources in Pristina have not released details on the
serious incidents, but several foreign news agencies have released
unconfirmed reports that at least 90 Albanians have been killed in
the clashes.
