PRISTINA, July 13 (Hina) - Heavy battles are reported to have broken
out between strong Serbian military-police forces and Kosovo
Liberation Army (KLA) troops near the southern Yugoslav province's
largest coal mine Trepce, not far from Stari Trg.
Clashes in the area had been reported last night as well, from 10pm
yesterday to 5am today, but there is no information on victims, the
Kosovo Information Centre said on Monday.
The Centre said there had been a strong concentration of Serbian
forces near coalmines in the Obilic area, between the villages of
Hade and Palaj.
Albanian forces fled these and other villages near Obilic, about
10km west of the provincial capital Pristina, following heavy
Serbian attacks.
The Kosovo Information Centre also said that Serbian police in
Djakovica on Monday arrested three workers from the "Mother
Theresa" humanitarian organisation.
