KOSOVO: CLASHES REPORTED IN DECANI MUNICIPALITY

( Editorial: --> 5776 ) PRISTINA, July 5 (Hina) - Serbian forces on Sunday shelled the village of Lebusa (Decani municipality), the Kosovo Democratic Alliance reported. Less intensive fighting was reported in four other villages in the Decani municipality. There were no reports on victims but the same source said that last night Albanian and Serbian forces started fierce fighting in Prejlepe, near Decani. There were no victims among Albanian troops while Serbian forces had one killed and several wounded soldiers, the same source reported. These reports have not been confirmed by the Serbian sources. The body of a 75-year-old Albanian was discovered in Herec near Decani, the Kosovo Information Centre reported adding the man was a victim of Serbian snipers. Strong Serbian forces, supported by local Serbs, last night attacked the villages of Krusica, Muhljane and Recane, about 10 km east of Suva Reka, the same source reported. Albanian residents were evacuated from these villages and the Kosovo Liberation Army went to the aid of Albanian defenders. The pro-government Media Centre reported that armed Albanian groups last night kidnapped three Serbs near the village of Muhljane near Suva Reka. The Kosovo Information Centre reported intensified police movements in the Urosevac municipality, while villages in the Gnjilane municipality were being monitored by the Serbian police.
