VIENNA, June 14 (Hina) - The original exhibits of the prehistoric
man from Krapina, north-western Croatia, are the centrepiece of an
exhibition staged at the Museum of Natural Sciences in Vienna under
the headline "150 Years of the Neanderthal Prehistoric Man".
Alongside five original exhibits from Croatia, visitors may also
see castings of Neanderthal men from France, Italy, Spain and
Germany.
According to Nicola Maria Teschler, head of the museum's
anthropology department, the exhibits from Krapina are the most
important part of the whole exhibition.
The exhibition, which opened June 10, has aroused great interest
among the scientific and cultural public in Vienna. It will be
staged in Zagreb next year.
The exhibits from Krapina will be on display in Vienna by July 20.
The exhibition closes in February 1999.
