ZAGREB, June 8 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman Monday
returned from a visit to Lisbon, where he held talks with Portuguese
President Jorge Sampaio and attended the Expo 98 world exhibition.
"I attended the Croatian Pavilion Day at the Expo world exhibition
in Portugal which, according to the general assessment of domestic
and foreign common people and experts, was the most successful
one", the President told reporters at Zagreb's Pleso airport.
"Of the 160 countries Croatia is the first as regards content and
beauty. We can be proud, and all of us who visited (the exhibition)
are satisfied with what we saw", Tudjman said.
"I held talks with the Portuguese President and invited him to
officially visit to Croatia, which he accepted, while I was invited
to make an official visit to Portugal", the President said,
emphasising the talks had been very useful.
The Croatian delegation Tudjman headed in Portugal included
Culture Minister Bozo Biskupic, Economy Minister Nenad Porges,
Tourism Minister Sergej Morsan, the President's advisor for
foreign affairs Neven Madey, and the head of the President's
cabinet Gordan Radin.
