VIENNA, May 15 (Hina) - A two-day conference of the Danube River
basin countries on entrepreneurial prospects of economic
integration closed in Vienna on Friday.
The conference adopted a joint document on stimulating economic
cooperation between the countries of the region.
The meeting was attended by delegations from 27 states, including a
Croatian delegation which was led by Assistant Minister of
Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Dragutin Subat.
Participants in the conference considered possibilities of
promoting bilateral and multilateral cooperation in
entrepreneurship, foreign investments, traffic, development of
infrastructure and better integration of the private sector in
regional economic and ecological efforts.
The meeting was organised by the International Vienna Council in
cooperation with the European Forum, Institute for the Danube River
Area and Central Europe and the Association of Austrian Industry.
One of the chairmen of the conference, executive vice president of
the International Vienna Council and businessman Hannes Androsch
proposed that it be suggested to the European Union to have Croatia
in mind when considering preparations for the admission of Danube
River region states.
