SARAJEVO, June 11 (Hina) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Kresimir Zubak, met on Thursday with Cardinal Vinko
Puljic, the archbishop of Sarajevo. The two men discussed the
return of displaced persons and numerous problems which are slowing
down the process at the local level.
During this meeting it was emphasised that a large number of Croats
had expressed a strong wish to return, which can be met only with a
stronger backing by the Bosniak side, said a statement from Zubak's
office.
Cardinal Puljic reiterated today that the Church from the start
supported equality and would support all concrete steps for the
return of displaced persons.
Zubak also talked about the process of return with representatives
of the Association of Displaced Persons of Bosanska Posavina.
Participants in the talks considered the possibility of a faster
return to Bosanska Posavina which has been agreed to by the
Republika Srpska authorities.
The Association's representatives supported the initiative for
establishing a new Croat party. They believe that it would advocate
a more efficient approach to the return to this part of Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
The Italian Ambassador to BH Michaele Valensise today talked with
Zubak about the current situation of the Croat people in BH.
