PRISTINA, June 10 (Hina) - Pristina University's Independent Union
of Albanian Students on Wednesday reported that eight armed Serb
police officers entered the Philosophy Faculty premises and beat
six Albanian professors.
The six professors were seriously injured while 18 professors and
one student were less hurt in the attack.
The student union most strongly condemned today's behaviour by Serb
police stressing that it demonstrated a continuance of the campaign
of terror and violence toward Albanian students and professors.
The Committee for Protest Organisation in Kosovo today decided that
after 60 days the daily half-hour protests by Albanians under the
motto "Kosovo - the biggest jail in the world" would stop.
The Committee, made up of the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo and 12
other Albanian political parties and associations hold that during
the 60 days a clear message was sent to the world on the resoluteness
of Albanians for realising their desires by peaceful means.
