LISBON, June 6 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman and his
wife Ankica arrived in Portugal for a two-day visit on Saturday.
During his stay, the President will attend the celebration of the
Croatian national day at the world exhibition Expo 98, on Sunday,
June 7.
Upon his arrival in front of the presidential palace Belem, Tudjman
viewed a unit of the Portuguese Republican Guard, lined up in his
honour.
After the welcome ceremony, Tudjman and his host, President Jorge
Sampaio held talks.
Main topics at the talks were bilateral relations, the situation in
Croatia and wider region and Croatia's presence at Expo 98.
After the talks, Tudjman will visit the Croatian Embassy and two
Croatian exhibitions.
The exhibition "Roman Glass in Croatia" has been staged in the
monastery of the Church of St Girolamo, while Croatian maritime
tradition is presented at an exhibition in the Lisbon suburb of
Alcochete.
President Tudjman is heading a delegation which includes Culture
Minister Bozo Biskupic, Economy Minister Nenad Porges, Tourism
Minister Sergej Morsan, presidential advisor on foreign policy
Neven Madey and presidential advisor on culture, Dasa Bradicic.
