MOSTAR, June 3 (Hina) - The registration of voters for this year's
September election in Bosnia-Herzegovina started on June 1 in 352
registration centres throughout the country, the director of the
Mostar office of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in
Europe (OSCE), David Foley, told a press conference Wednesday.
The registration will run until 27 June and in that period voters
have to decide where they wish to vote.
He recalled that for the 1996 and 1997 elections many voters decided
to register to vote in places in which they currently resided.
Foley said that for this year's elections voters can change their
place of voting and register for the elections in places where they
lived prior to the war, i.e. in 1991.
He also said that some political parties from the Bosnian Serb
entity had registered for this year's elections in all 10 cantons of
the Croat-Muslim Federation of BH, which enables refugee Serbs to
vote in places where they lived in 1991.
Displaced Croats too can register to vote in places where they lived
in 1991, to secure stronger political representation in places
where they will be returning.
