MOSTAR, May 9 (Hina) - A funeral was given in east Mostar Saturday
for 186 Bosniak civilians killed in Croat-Moslem conflicts in 1993
and 1994.
The remains were exhumed from several graves in the Mostar and
Capljina area.
Out of the total, 133 persons have been identified.
Expressing condolences, Mostar's Mayor Safet Orucevic said that at
these moments when the past catches up with us, we have to think and
speak about the future.
The future of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Mostar is sure, he said, and
called on tolerance and the establishment of trust.
Crimes cannot be forgotten, in order that they may never be repeated
again, Orucevic said.
Co-chairman of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Council of Ministers Haris
Silajdzic told reporters that these victims were the "victims of
Fascist aggression".
We now have to work on the return of refugees.
"If it happens, and things are progressing in that direction, then
Bosnia will once again return to its original multi-ethnic
structure, and fascism will be conquered. If not, fascism has
conquered," Silajdzic said.
