INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY WILL CHOOSE BOSNIAN NATIONAL ANTHEM TOO

( Editorial: --> 5560 ) SARAJEVO, May 21 (Hina) - An independent commission which drew up design suggestions for the Bosnia-Herzegovina national flag and coat-of-arms, on Thursday received a request by International High representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina Carlos Westendorp to open a public competition for the country's new national anthem. Westendorp's spokesman in Sarajevo Simon Haselock said Thursday that the commission would publish a bid for composers from all parts of Bosnia-Herzegovina. Westendorp on Wednesday decided on the look and use of the new coat- of-arms for Bosnia-Herzegovina. The coat-of-arms has been designed based on solutions used for the design of the flag. A diagonal line divides a blue and a yellow field with white stars. The design of the new coat-of-arms was adopted by a vote at the state Parliament's two houses. According to Westendorp, the coat-of-arms will have to be placed in the main offices of all state institutions, and will be valid until all interested sides in the country reach an agreement by themselves on a new look of the coat-of-arms.
