ILOK, May 11 (Hina) - The Yugoslav Army arrested three Croatian
citizens this Sunday morning at Sarengradska Ada, where they were
taking care of their livestock.
They were released in the evening, but their boats were not
returned, said the mayor of Ilok, Stipan Kraljevic.
Sarengradska Ada is an area between the old and the new course of the
Danube, and is currently an object of dispute between Croatia and
Yugoslavia.
Kraljevic said the Sarengrad inhabitants had used Ada as a pasture
grounds for years. At the moment, about 200 horses owned by
Sarengrad inhabitants are grazing there.
Yesterday's incident, however, was not the first of its kind.
Yugoslav Army arrested B.Z., also of Sarengrad, earlier this month.
He was then sentenced to 30 days in prison and is currently serving
his sentence in Novi Sad, said Pero Coric, the president of Ilok's
HDZ branch.
The Vukovar Police sent a report to the Interior Ministry and asked
the inhabitants of Sarengrad to avoid Ada until the border dispute
was solved.
