PRISTINA/BELGRADE, April 16 (Hina) - The Kosovo Democratic Union
party in Djakovica reported Friday morning that Serbian troops had
wounded two young Albanian men in a conflict near the Kosovo-
Yugoslav border.
The Kosovo Human Rights and Freedoms Committee said Serbian
military police had blocked the border area near the villages of
Ponoshec and Morin.
Yugoslav military authorities issued a statement on Thursday night
that Yugoslav border police had that evening "dispersed a terrorist
group which had attempted to carry a large amount of arms,
ammunition and other equipment from Albania into Yugoslavia on
horseback".
They said 60 automatic rifles, four machine guns , 100 hand
grenades, over 10,000 bullets and other equipment had been
confiscated.
The Yugoslav authorities claimed that the terrorist group had
opened fire at the border police, after having been warned, and in
return, the police fired back
The statement mentioned no casualties.
The Yugoslav authorities also said that a joint Yugoslav-Albanian
commission had investigated the scene of the incident and an
investigation was under way.
