THREE KILLED, THREE WOUNDED IN SHELLING OF KOSOVO VILLAGES

( Editorial: --> 1009 ) PRISTINA, May 2 (Hina) - Three Kosovo Albanians were killed and three other were wounded in Friday night's shelling of the village of Vojnike, Srbica municipality, by the Serbian forces, the Kosovo Information Centre reported. All victims were members of the same family. According to the Kosovo Information Centre, this is the most barbaric act since the killing of several families from Donje Prekaze near Srbica on March 5 this year, when 20 members of the Jashari family, mostly children and women, were killed and massacred. According to the Albanian sources, the Serbian forces which have held the villages of Lausha, Rakinica, Turicevac, Donji Kopiliq, Gornji Kopiliq, Vojnike, Broja and Acarevo under siege since March 5, started shelling houses in these villages three days ago. Citing its sources in Srbica, the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo said that at least 23 Albanian houses in the villages of Turicevac and Rakinica were set on fire or damaged. (hina) rm 021312 MET may 98
